I first photographed A back in the Spring. We met at their house and walked up to the Monument on a beautiful May afternoon. She is so beautiful! I was happy to hear from them again for Fall pics. We met the day before Thanksgiving in the Navy Yard. I obviously do a lot of shoots in the NY. There are so many great spots and you have such great variety with a mix of urban backdrops of brick, cobblestone and the skyline, but also grass, water, and beautiful trees. It's always a great backdrop, but even better with beautiful clients like A and her parents! Enjoy! The dog was SO not impressed with me....

This session was scheduled the morning that Hurricane Sandy was starting. We managed to get it in right before the rain started. It made for a warmer morning in the beauty that is the Navy Yard in the Fall. The secret stash of lollipops I keep in my bag really helped me out with this shoot. Whatever works! We got some great shots and I was happy to not have to postpone them to after the hurricane washed away all the beautiful leaves! Enjoy!
I traveled up to visit a friend and her little ones the week after I returned from my trip. I have been taking her youngest daughter's pictures every few months for the first year and this was our final part of the baby plan. We had iffy weather but it held out for us and we even still had amazing light coming into their kitchen (seriously, if I had the great natural light they have, I would do tons of sessions in my house). Emma got right into the cake and definitely smashed it! Enjoy!!
What am I doing on this muggy and rainy evening? Catching up on editing and orders. I'm also trying to crank out some blog posts to share the great sessions I've done recently! I received an email from C's mom for newborn pictures. It took me a few days to connect the name with a face and realize I have seen her and her son around town MANY times. :) They are such a great family. I know I seem to say that a lot, but I really do have great families as clients. This family is no exception. They were so sweet and friendly and the session was laid back. We did pictures out in their great yard (a gem in Charlestown) and then the rest of little C inside. Big brother W was awesome and did great holding and posing with his baby sister. Enjoy!! My last blog post was the big cousin of this cutie pie. I've been anticipating her arrival for, well, since the day I found out she was coming. Her mom is the sister of Michelle's mom (Minnie Mouse, Cupcake Baker). Of course, I love this whole family and not just because they are great clients and the ENTIRE family-cousins and all-use me for their photos. I love them because they are all super close and remind me of my own family and just how families should be. They spend time together, are there for each other no matter what, and have welcomed me into their crazy group.
C was born a few weeks early and was under 6 pounds when we had our session. She has the most perfect little features and slept like a champ all cozy with my heater. She let me pose her exactly how I wanted almost the entire time (which, let me tell you, is like hitting the jackpot). ENJOY! I first met little Michelle when she was just a tiny newborn at just over 5 lbs. She was one of the only babies to fit snuggly into the little teacup planter I had (see below). Well, over the year, I have followed her for every major holiday. Her mom is absolutely insane. I can say this and it's okay to say because I have become very good friends with her over the past year and she, along with her entire family and group of friends would agree. ;) I am honestly surprised Michelle still likes me after all of the things we've done to her and the many pictures we've taken. I'm waiting for her to talk and tell me to "get lost!". Instead, she deals with us and seems to get a little more okay with it every time. Below is a little collage I had put together to wish her a happy birthday on facebook. You may remember the pumpkin and the live bunny her mother supplied. I love that I followed her so much during her first year, because babies change so fast! Her mom now has a full photographic record of her growth and progress over that first year and even with all the crazy ideas (and there were some CRAZY ones), we got great photos of her. Now, comes her one year shoot. The regular photos are actually VERY simple compared to everything else we've done. We met at the Training Field with some balloons, benches, and chairs. Now, yes, these were simple...but her cake smash was NOT. Anyone who knows Andrea, knows she makes cupcakes, so of course, we had a cupcake theme and well, you'll see below... (I know all of you who know Andrea will not be surprised that we're already planning for Halloween! ENJOY! GO over and "LIKE" NICOLE O'NEIL PHOTOGRAPHY on FACEBOOK! These next two are two of my favorites!
I was contacted by A's mom a while back after she saw my poster up in Olivia Browning's window. We scheduled for a Thursday evening and I met them at their house. 'A' was instantly smiling at me (always a good sign when they don't need a warm up period). We walked to the Bunker Hill Monument and started snapping. Little 'A', like most babies was fascinated by the grass blowing in the breeze and was looking down a lot, but we still managed to get a bunch of that cute, angelic face (and THOSE EYES!), especially when her dad got there and she was belly laughing. Dad's always manage to get the big laughs (poor mom's!!). haha. I absolutely LOVED this family and again, feel so blessed to have such great clients! So, here's another BEAUTIFUL baby and family for you to enjoy!
This client was referred to me by a current client. She wanted a shoot to include her adorable son and daughter and also her niece. When we did the shoot, they were 2.5 yrs, 10 weeks, and about 2 weeks. They have the most beautiful eyes (yes, I do have a slight obsession with eyes). They were all super cute and for 2.5, big brother/cousin was so sweet and cooperative through the long shoot. Enjoy!
I was contacted by L's mom a while back. She is friends with other clients of mine (and related to others). I love how everyone is so connected. We decided on the Boston Public Gardens for the session and we couldn't have gotten a better day! It was gorgeous out. We sort of wandered around the Gardens and captured some great shots of little L. It was so laid back, which is key to a really successful shoot. They were totally patient and go-with-the-flow. We all just enjoyed the weather and looking at those cheeks and eyes! Enjoy!
Baby V's mom contacted me wanting her 3 month pics. I went to her home and had a great time. V's mom is super laid back and that certainly helps the energy of a shoot. We took our time and captured V smiley and happy. The first one is my favorite from the day even though she isn't smiling. I mean, look at those eyes! ENJOY! We wore her out. ;) I'm very happy we got this because mom was sad she didn't do sleepy newborn pics, so one sleeping made her day!
