I first met this family when their daughter was born and they were living in the city. I saw them again when the beautiful O turned 1. Now, they've welcomed their new addition and have been in the suburbs for a little while. It's great to watch my little clients and the families grow. O showed lots of love for her baby brother and baby J was perfect. He was sleepy the whole time and went from pose to pose with ease. But he did wake at the end for a few shots of those open eyes!
If you or someone you know is pregnant and wants a newborn shoot or wants a family shoot, make sure to book early!

I've been taking pics of little Z since he was born. He's now 1 with a super sweet personality. I love watching my little clients grow through these important stages. Z gave flashed me those smiles and thoroughly enjoyed his monster cake from The Cake Bar in Franklin. Enjoy!
I first met this family when their son was around 3 months old. Now, they have a new little girl and a new home. I went by to capture them in their new house and baby M slept through it all. Big brother had so much love for his baby sister and was very gentle with her. I had so much fun capturing some precious moments! Enjoy!
*If you or anyone you know wants to book a newborn or family session, make sure to book early!
I absolutely loved this family. Baby E was fussy at first but once mom and dad snuck away, I managed to settle him down and get some shots in his crib followed by some special moments with mom, dad and his grandmother. I do love some of those posed shots that I do a lot but there is just something about lifestyle images that are so special. (I always do some of those as well). If you or someone you know is having a baby, make sure to book early! Enjoy!
I LOVE environmental head shots! Whether in your office, out on the streets, in a park, they make for much more relaxed and inviting images than the stuffy ones on a boring blank background. Personally, if I were looking at two people who did the same job and both were qualified and recommended for what I'm looking for, I would be drawn toward the one with a warmer image. By warmer, I mean, that the person looked more relaxed, confident, and the entire image captured me. I'm currently holding head shot specials if anyone needs some updated shots! It is the FIRST impression someone has of you from your social media or website. Make sure you have a professional shot that truly embodies who you are and what you do.
Shawna and I always do environmental head shots. I'm even going to share a few past photos we've taken below the new ones. Every session we do is different and has evolved with her brand. (Why it's also important to update your images.) This time, we hit the beautiful greenway, a perfect shot for an evening photo shoot of any kind.
I'm going to get personal and share some things about myself because I want to share how great Shawna is and a little of what she does while you take a look at some shots from her session. Shawna is not only a regular client of mine, but also a very close friend and a big part of where I am today. I have known Shawna for years and she has helped me tremendously. About 7 years ago, I took my first class with her that was meant to help let go of negative things I’d been holding onto. We all have so many things from our past that just stays with us. It was literally life changing. I felt a weight lifted out of me, people noticed I ‘looked” different and “lighter”, my relationships with everyone in my life changed in positive ways, and I started to handle any negative situation in a very different and healthy way. It gave me a new perspective on life and overall, made me happier than I’d ever been.
Then, a little over 3 years ago, I experienced the most difficult time of my life having been standing less than 100 ft from the second bomb at the Boston Marathon. I, again, turned to Shawna. I had severe anxiety and depression to a point where my body literally shook every day, all day. Through many sessions with Shawna and using a few other tools I’d learned from her and others, I was rid of both the anxiety and depression only a year and a half later. I am now happier and more at peace than I ever have been in my life, not just before that day. While many people still struggle with it, I can easily be in situations that used to make me extremely uncomfortable, sad or fearful. Shawna’s extensive knowledge of healing from the core of your being, her soothing voice, and her positive and beautiful spirit all help to create an amazingly healing place. Enjoy these images we did and also check her out at www.shawnapelton.com
I have been going to Debralee for years to get my hair done. I always leave completely satisfied and loving whatever she does. She now owns her own salon with a number of talented stylists. I had a great time heading there in June to snap some photos of the salon and the girls. If you live in Charlestown or anywhere near there, check out Philip Edward Salon on Bunker Hill Street. You won't be disappointed!
I had some fun with my cousins, Annabel and Libby, twins, college students, and they happen to also be models for Kiel James Patrick. They're fun, beautiful, and also have a wonderful view on life. So, when I wanted to do a fun shoot in the woods and a field, they were the first people I thought of to model for me. We met at a great spot they recommended, Charles River Peninsula in Needham. It was perfect for my vision. I love that they are open to anything, like walking barefoot in the woods and into the river fully dressed.
Are you a senior in HS or College? Or do you just want some fun photos by yourself, with siblings or friends? Book a session today!
I edited these images with a few different styles to play around. And you'll find a few images Annabel shot of me. Did I mention they also have a great eye, are super creative and take beautiful pictures??

I was referred to Diane by her son in law who I knew from Charlestown. She was looking to get photos of her entire family and their families while they were all in town. When I arrived, I found this gorgeous property with a barn, a pond, ducks, an old wooden swing and many more beautiful features. It was basically a perfect photo shoot setting. The family was a lot of fun. We finished just as a huge storm moved in. Like, sort of scary driving down the back roads with branches falling everywhere kind of storm. Mother Nature held out for us though. :) ENJOY!
It's been a long time since I blogged but I'm going to try to be better at it! I'm sharing a recent shoot now and you'll be seeing some shoots from 2016 and then some more recents. :) Elizabeth was referred to me on the Charlestown Mother's Association website (thanks to my former clients for referrals). I got to meet and snuggle her new precious boy on a hot summer day. He and I were sufficiently hot with my heater to keep him toasty and sleepy. ;0 He was perfect, letting me pose him and staying asleep but also gave me a glimpse at those open eyes. You'll be seeing more of baby J when he's 6 months and a year. I LOVE first year plans and watching my littlest clients grow!
