I LOVE environmental head shots! Whether in your office, out on the streets, in a park, they make for much more relaxed and inviting images than the stuffy ones on a boring blank background. Personally, if I were looking at two people who did the same job and both were qualified and recommended for what I'm looking for, I would be drawn toward the one with a warmer image. By warmer, I mean, that the person looked more relaxed, confident, and the entire image captured me. I'm currently holding head shot specials if anyone needs some updated shots! It is the FIRST impression someone has of you from your social media or website. Make sure you have a professional shot that truly embodies who you are and what you do.
Shawna and I always do environmental head shots. I'm even going to share a few past photos we've taken below the new ones. Every session we do is different and has evolved with her brand. (Why it's also important to update your images.) This time, we hit the beautiful greenway, a perfect shot for an evening photo shoot of any kind.
I'm going to get personal and share some things about myself because I want to share how great Shawna is and a little of what she does while you take a look at some shots from her session. Shawna is not only a regular client of mine, but also a very close friend and a big part of where I am today. I have known Shawna for years and she has helped me tremendously. About 7 years ago, I took my first class with her that was meant to help let go of negative things I’d been holding onto. We all have so many things from our past that just stays with us. It was literally life changing. I felt a weight lifted out of me, people noticed I ‘looked” different and “lighter”, my relationships with everyone in my life changed in positive ways, and I started to handle any negative situation in a very different and healthy way. It gave me a new perspective on life and overall, made me happier than I’d ever been.
Then, a little over 3 years ago, I experienced the most difficult time of my life having been standing less than 100 ft from the second bomb at the Boston Marathon. I, again, turned to Shawna. I had severe anxiety and depression to a point where my body literally shook every day, all day. Through many sessions with Shawna and using a few other tools I’d learned from her and others, I was rid of both the anxiety and depression only a year and a half later. I am now happier and more at peace than I ever have been in my life, not just before that day. While many people still struggle with it, I can easily be in situations that used to make me extremely uncomfortable, sad or fearful. Shawna’s extensive knowledge of healing from the core of your being, her soothing voice, and her positive and beautiful spirit all help to create an amazingly healing place.
